For 42 years I've been proud to call Randy Knox my husband.
While it is difficult for us to discuss our private lives: our love for Longview is so great that Randy and I have decided that he should step forward and run for Longview City Council. Randy's investigative skills and analytical way of thinking coupled with his ability to process complex details and bring successful conclusions to perilous situations will be a real asset to our community. I am proud to support my husband 100% as he does his best to Save Longview!
I am a private person, but these are different times and even though it's difficult for me to talk about these things: I feel it's incredibly important that I introduce you to the side of Randy that only I know.
Just like all couples, we've been through some very tough times. Early in our marriage we lost our first child. Just one week before losing our daughter, we lost Randy's father to cancer. In one week, we buried them both. Not too much later my brother, a Deputy Sheriff, was killed in the line of duty. It was horrific. There just aren't enough words to describe the horrible crime or the trial of the man who murdered my brother.
Randy is my rock. Was he hurt by these ordeals? Yes, he was, but he picked himself up every day and carried on for our entire family. He carried me through these tough times because I was unable to carry myself. I am eternally grateful for his strength.
I am a five-year cancer survivor too. April was my five-year anniversary. Through 14 months of treatment, a double mastectomy and losing all my hair, Randy never left my side. In fact, he still wears the pink bracelet in honor of all cancer victims & survivors.
I doubt I would have made it through these terrible times without my Randy. His calm, cool and steady demeanor is what got us through the most difficult times of our lives.
Randy's not a man that wears his emotions on his sleeve, he's not a super emotionally driven man. He's logical and detail oriented: that's what makes him such a good investigator. In my opinion, he's exactly the kind of man we need to solve the problems our beautiful city faces.
When you elect Randy to serve on the Longview City Council, you know you can count on him. He will look at all the facts, analyze all the details, research all the angles, ask a lot of questions and find the right solutions for the problems that ail our community.
I ask you to please join me in supporting my husband, Randy Knox, for Longview City Council
